That is the question I have heard most often on construction sites.

On a residential renovation project in Cascais, Portugal, a client laid several proposals and quotations in front of me. Every company said its solution was the best, yet the budgets did not align. Design, procurement and construction moved separately; every change added cost, and the programme kept slipping.

At that moment, I realised that what a project often lacks is not an architect, contractor or supplier, but someone able to see the whole picture and take responsibility for the project as a whole.

Whether the budget is under control, the different disciplines are coordinated, the design can be built and site issues are resolved cannot be considered by only one participant.

I therefore began to take on that role: discussing design with architects, confirming construction methods with contractors, reviewing budgets, coordinating procurement and installation, and moving the project forward when problems arose.

Because we have always believed that we do not represent any single participant; we represent the success of the whole project.
